Journal for January
It has been a long wait, a year’s wait. Finally, the much anticipated Chinese New Year finally came, bringing about a change from the rabbit year to the auspicious dragon year in accordance with the Chinese calendar.
I have been waiting a long time for the new year angpows, the goodies and most importantly, the atmosphere. The smile on my relatives’ faces as we went visiting them from house to house only added to the joy that I felt during this festive season. As I see them only once a year, we spent lots of wonderful time playing card games and sharing our experiences of the past year together.
Besides, I have been able to enjoy the sweet and fragrant mandarin oranges that I can only enjoy once a year,  not to mention the soft drinks and cookies that I am only allowed to enjoy as much as I want during the Chinese New Year.
Of course, January is not a month for Chinese New Year only. I am Form 5 this year and without a doubt, the syllabus is more challenging than the previous years. Therefore, I have to study more diligently in order to excel in my SPM examinations. I hope that I will do well in it.
